Vietnam 30-12-2006 in Hotel Bijhorst The Hague The Netherlands

Universal Peace Federation keep together with foundation for the development or vietnam (FOV) a conference on the occasion of 30 person whose birthday it is exists of the FOV with as topic: Toward a Common Future!

There live to estimate 18 thousand people of Vietnamese source in the Netherlands. If we look back to the past 30 years, then it is striking that the refugees this way well received and geintegreerd in the Dutch society are. This deserves respect.

Many of them remained also dedicated to their fatherland, especially concerning the situation of their family and human rights for a photograph report, click on this link.

Mr. Tong Whu Mr. Tong Whu:

In the year 1976 the first refugees Vietnam came. Two systems stood compared with each other. The communist system and the Western democratic system. Communism has never been possible brought the ideal. On the contrary, extreme state control brought it what limited the freedom of people. Democracy, but are also teased corruption and materialism spend more voorspoed and freedom. There are 18 thousand Vietnamezen now such in the Netherlands. We have been here well taken care of and have been incorporated in the Dutch society. Toch many Vietnamezen occupy themselves nor with their fatherland. Many things have changed in vietnam. Communism accepts the now much more market forces and also human rights have strongly improved. Nevertheless there are problems still many. Drugs, poverty, older people who have no relief. It is for this reason now the time to clasp the hands and cooperate. We want thank also the UPF for this cooperation and I want everyone once again welcome be called on behalf of the SOV.

Mr. Hessing Mr. Hessing

First of all I want congratulate everyone with this 30st anniversary of this foundation. I have had always a lot of appreciation for the SOV and the way Vietnamese people in the Netherlands are geintegreerd. Think for example of the entrepreneurship of the Vietnamezen. There we can learn as Dutch still much of. I also think of the way in which you have used yourself for improvements in vietnam. For this reason are I also glad that you have been successful. Vietnam becomes more and more a country which becomes more and more open and there its much hoopvolle developments. Toch is leave there still long. It goes economically better than ever, but the challenge is for this to put in real freedom and rights for people. That still a complete large step is. The government can play a role, but that is nevertheless a restricted role. Eventually people themselves must fight for freedom. That is even in the Netherlands this way. That is something where we with vietnam concerning must will talk. You can only live together if you make good agreements as government and people and on each other can count. That means that there legislation must come but that is not easy set up. What is the basic principles where one goes from. Does one follow which countries and principles? In this area the UN but also the Netherlands can play an important role. They must help vietnam with building a rule of law. On the invitation crime and other problems were called. That is problems where we everywhere to experience have. Also propitiation and brotherhood have been called. That is complete good main points. Also I read "Towards a Common Future?" In the invitation still stood this with a question sign. To let we this question sign take away and an exclamation mark to put.

Mrs Jannie the earl Mrs Jannie the earl

I 30 years have been suffered President become and it was as such involved in the relief of the first boat refugees from vietnam. There are now in the meantime 80 different cultures in the place where I live and work. I was there at then the refugees arrived. I saw the faces of people and that touched me. They went to a centre in apeldoorn. I wondered itself what of people would become there. Sometimes it lasted months before we could categorise people of the same family in a house. We made many errors, but tried do it better. Now we celebrate the fact that you 30 are years in the Netherlands. You have not come all here as a refugee. Much of 18 thousand people who live here now its here born. It is to see is that almost all guest families have still contact with Vietnamese people who have been categorised here. That says what concerning the Vietnamese character. Spontaneously and with respect for each other. That is how we handled each other. From that its friendships arise that have remained. Now encounter you in overal in the Dutch society people of Vietnamese source in all kinds of professions. There I am, however, proud on. Nevertheless question I me finished how it goes now with you. How you go for with the current changes in the society. That asks I you as friends.

D Monica construction man Mrs Dr. Monica construction man concerning "Being a World Citizen".

Our family come in approximately 50 years suffered to the Netherlands. That a group of approximately 250 thousand people was. The crack which is then has arisen however very large because there Dutch Indie now no exist. A cooled off relation which has in fact a year ago improved just, has come. Minister Bot has not only congratulated then namenlijk on the occasion of 60 the one year old existence of Indonesie the Indonesiers but them also regret declared concerning geweldadige the role which the Netherlands has played during the onstaan van Indonesie (think ' police action ' of the z.g.). My parents are Moluccan who have come in that time to the Netherlands. If they spoke concerning Indonesie, they spoke as something that never more would return. For this reason the only choice was in the Dutch society incorporate. That was not easy for me. I found much support at the belief. Later I came in contact with the work of day Hammarskjold. He had an ethics of cosmopolitism. He wrote that to a day book (Markings) enormously made impression on me. Centrally in this day book stood that the striving towards mental volwassenheid. This be able volwassenheid is necessary a good world citizen. This addresses me still. If I think then concerning the cosmopolitism, then we have a certain wealth in the Netherlands with so many cultural contexts. Then it can predominate joy aspect best. I was very glad that in Indonesie also interest is in the Indonesiers in the Netherlands. That a door in mijzelf opened. The gesture of minister Bot has had also a very positive influence on this type developments. In the UN it is now spoken concerning the "Alliance or Civilisations". That is many positivere approach then the Clash or Civilisations. The speech became beeindigd by a citaat from the day book of day Hammarskjold.

D Wim koetsier Drs. W.A. koetsier, President, UPF - Netherlands

Principles for development of a good society.

THE UPF go out of it that if you want something build that then the construction toes must be well. Thus also a good society exists from good people and families. Without these good construction toes it is not possible a good build society. The problem is not the system, but people themselves, which lives in conflict with itself. Without this problem solving come we never further. An important principle is that god is our parent, independently of our religious context. He is also the source of love. Love is the nature of our life. Truth has do love with living for others. For this reason also the family is important because the family is the school of love. The different types of love can compare you with several colours of light. These colours of the rain arc form together blank slightly. We are on ground born as a baby. But firstly there, is a time in the uterus, which prepares us on living on ground. Then are we born. Thus life also our on ground is a preparation for our birth in the mental world. That preparation has do with the development of love. Without this (truth) love is developed, can you in the mental world not well function. If we look at fighting to the different political parties with each other then seem it that the parent position is lacking. That parental role would have would be filled in by the UN, but then the mental element must be represented. For this reason it is important that the different religious stromingen cooperate for peace on this world.
